This is kind of interesting. Teal and I were having a look at the sales figures for the Reboot.

It really makes you wonder WHY they didn’t choose to continue Tim’s comic in some form. I will never not be disappointed that they ended RR where they did. There was just so much potential

06/2009:...

There was dramatic drop-off when Chris Yost left the Red Robin book.  Fab. Nic. took Tim in a different direction.  You can tell that, unlike something like Batgirl, in which they tried to boost the sales bringing on an established artist like Dustin Nguyen, the art wasn’t the problem with Red Robin; it was the writing.

And, yes, the sales for the reboot have been good, but I’m not sure how long those sales can be maintained?

Aqua Man had the benefit of being featured in Blackest Night and Brightest Day, along with Mera, and he also got the added bonus of being written by Geoff Johns.  Which is the only reason why I picked up the book.

Geoff Johns can tell a really great story.  And you can tell that he really respects and loves his characters.

tl;dr - it makes me sad too.  I would love another Tim book.  There are too many characters in Teen Titans for any serious character development.

I totally agree, Sam, I think that with the way they’re running things, it’s going to eventually be as it was before the reboot.

There’s been a steady decline for a lot of the books and while it was a fantastic opportunity to bring in new readers. I don’t know how long they’ll be able to hold their readers with the quality of writing on some books.

Ive given them 8 issue and now I’m starting to measure just how bad I want to collect some of them.

Birds of Prey is good, I’ve felt the most recent few have been weaker than the start but I still like it. It gets confusing sometimes and if they change the artist which I think they’re planning. Well hopefully it will pick back up. Because if the art declines….yeahhh.

Aquaman is new on my pull and I cant recommend it highly enough

But I agree. Its only a matter of time before the numbers are as they were. Unless the quality improves.

And also, yes to what you said about RR. I miss our Tim.
