And hooks two fingers with a pinkie finger and the ring finger. An almost grip that is more tenuous than strong but so much more tender. A hesitant grip, a shy question. ‘May I hold your hand?’, his thumb asks as it brushes against a knuckle.
The two fingers slide against his hand, until all four fingers are in his grasp. Their fingers linked together, his lover squeezes his hand.
‘Yes, you may.’

Tim bent and twisted, his face pulled into a delicate frown. This was important. He had to get it right. Next week was it. If he didn’t get this perfect he wouldn’t get what he wanted. And there was nothing he didn’t get.
“Again.”
His heart beat pounded in his ears, breath caught in…
I love the flow of this so much. Even to look at the passage there is something very aesthetic about it.
The way the dialogue breaks it up so evenly was the first thing that struck me, even before I read anything.
And the curt snaps of ‘Again’ just seem to show Tim’s anger and frustration so clear and then Dick is so wordy and it’s so soothing in comparison. Just, really beautifully done.
I love how standoffish Tim is because he’s in a temper. Of course he knew, Dick, how dare you.
There was no way he was losing this to Selina. Not again. He’d prove his mother and father wrong. He hadn’t wasted years on this.
I absolutely love that. In 4 short lines you’ve just given this potentially enormous backstory. My mind just goes over all thepossibilities and fff Im kind f amazed at your ability to do that
Pain shooting up his ankle, shattering the control he had in his knee was ignored. He could handle it. Just a few more tries until it was perfect. He lifted his body up, stretching muscle and sinew to the very lengths of impossible.
Poor Tim, so unconcerned with his own health - obsessed with being perfect.
I really love the words and descriptions you used here. Makes me wince for Tim.
He stayed still as the hands moved up and over his shoulders, carding over his chest. His back was pressed fully against the other man’s, warmth seeping into abused muscle.
“Move with me,” Dick whispered into his ear, breath feathering over Tim’s neck.
Suddenly, it didn’t seem so impossible.
Im just going to paste this entire segment because it’s just so wonderful.
The descriptions, how stiff tim is at the beginning and as Dick’s touch soothes him.
UGH and that dialogue - hrnnnggggg. Dick stop, youre too much.
And perfect close.

Oh man Minuuuu this breaks my heart in two.
And really draws attention to how rough this must have been for all of them. I mean, when you think of that conversation we had about things playing on Billy’s mind. Imagine how affected he would be by this. How he hadn’t moved to help someone.
And how despicable he would feel for it. Then worrying how Teddy would think of it.
You write their interaction just so beautifully. I. CAN. NOT. EVEN.
And Teddy, still the most perfect boyfriend. He tries so hard to help him but theyre so very young. I imagine he must feel so alone with Billy being so depressed. He’d probably foster an interesting friendship with Tommy during this time.

Poor, precious, clumsy Billy. In better times this would probably have drawn a laugh from Teddy.
Dark brows wrinkle as Teddy stops them once more. Billy’s eyes shift back to the pavement, shoulders hunching. He would have tugged his hand free of his grasp, if Teddy allowed it— but he held firm.
This just breaks my heart. Poor Billy. He’s just so broken up over all of this ;w; And the way he’s withdrawing form Teddy must be so terrifying for poor Ted.
Tired eyes meet his, dark, and bruised from lack of proper sleep. The lines around Billy’s face are too pronounced for someone so young. Teddy runs his knuckles along the side of a cheek starting to grow rough with stubble, and the forlorn pinch of Billy’s face gentles for a precious instant as he leans into the warm touch.
“Maybe …” Billy concedes and—
This is such beautiful imagery and fff, Teddy finally seems to be getting throught ot him and then - one step forward, 2 steps back.
Billy shakes his head, eyes are bright and glassy. The streetlight makes him look pale as a ghost, makes the shadow on his chin look old and dark, makes the fine tremors running through frame all the more evident as he stares fixed in something like terror and hope at the alley, yet his feet remain fixed to the pavement.
FFFF, babies. I just love the picture this paints. I really love the words you used for this passage. It’s almost as if Billy’s barely alive in Teddy’s gaze.
Two months. And still—
“Can … we go home now?”
Nothing.
Billy’s voice shouldn’t ever sound broken.
Heart - million pieces. Seriously, this is just so sad ;w; I can just imagine how tiny Billy’s voice must sound and the way Teddy must look so stricken. HRNNGGG

It was a gentle sigh as he kissed Billy’s temple, wrapping an arm around his waist before continuing home. And the way that dark head leaned against his shoulder was too small a comfort, too little reassurance, that any of this would ever be right again.
This was such a lovely way to end it, because well, we THANKFULLY know they are okay but, god. WEH. The world must have felt like it was ending for Ted. I ca just imagine him wracking his brains for a solution. And all of that leading to #9
